Tyneside verses from river and coast
by Daniel M Turner
Available from 2 December 2018. Recommended Retail Price £9.99
This book is based around the life of the author. It provides stories and background, in poetic form, from his young days at home on Tyneside (Northeast England), exploring the coastline just down the road from where he lived. There are also poems based on other periods of his life here and his parents feature well. A lifelong association with the River Tyne and North Shields fish quay has fed his mind and activities. Friendships have developed with many of the local characters to be found here. Some of their own stories have been investigated and recorded in other books written by the author whose fascination with such things continues. Developing a keen interest in natural history, particularly ornithology, this has persisted and grown to increase the author’s knowledge. Many of the birds he observes regularly are coastal and riverine. His life has not always run smoothly, and some of his words investigate such matters.
